No : Herpes 1 and 2 are both lifelong infections. The acute antibodies will return to normal but there are other antibodies that will always be elevated. The virus remains in your system. For some people the initial outbreak is only infection but others can have recurrent outbreaks. This is true of oral and genital lesions. Stress and weakened immune system can increase outbreaks but meds will treat.
