Coincidence: Fludrocortisone (corticosteroid) is prescribed to control the sodium and fluids in the human body. The major side effect of this drug is a headache; hence stopping the drug will not induce headache. My 63 years old father was prescribed 0.1 mg florinef (fludrocortisone) daily for hypotension. He took it for 4 months and reduced the dose to half (0.05 mg) 3 weeks ago. Should he stop taking it without tapering as his bp is around 143/68 at night?
