It is normal: Swallowing your saliva with orajel may numb your back of throat. Orajel is a topical numbing medication that through this numbing action that you find relief of pain in the area of application.

It's suppose to..: .. Why the concern? Oragel is really great for infants that are teething.. It numbs the gum to give some temporary relief. You are an adult. At your age, a toothache means you need to see a dentist to be treated asap. Oragel only prolongs the agony and really does not help with a deep cavity or an infection.
