A member asked:

Can someone explain to me how come someone have an elevated aso titer if there is no g.a.s infection present?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Statistics: Titer defined as positive is a statistical value. To reduce false negatives, a certain percentage of false positives will be found. Additionally, the aso witnesses past exposure, not necessarily infection.
