See your ENT doctor: The most recent guidelines for tonsillectomy are based upon either airway obstruction or the frequency of tonsillitis: 7 episodes in 12 months or 5 episodes per year for 2 years or 3 episodes per year for 3 years or 4 episodes of strep in a year. If you meet any of the guidelines, you should see your local ear, nose and throat doctor to discuss your options.
