Tonsillitis : (Inflammation of tonsils) can be due to bacterial infection, most common is streptococcal infection, if occurs more than 8 times / years, or if there is malignancy (cancer, rare) . Otherwise tonsils aren't removed, check with your doctor if you need a referral to an ENT specialist for evaluation, wish you well
