Show it to a doctor: The question is 'what' caused this swelling? The time course of the symptom is important too. There are a list of things this could be - anything from a salivary cyst, to a small 'bruise', to an infection, an allergy and so on. Hopefully you're not a smoker, but the best thing to do is get this properly evaluated. If it came up suddenly and might be related to an allergy, you need to call 911
