A member asked:

Can you tell me is it possible for an asthmatic to obtain 100% lung function?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Asthma is possible: You can 100% lung function and still have exercise-induced bronchospasm or what was previously called exercise-induced asthma. As the name suggests, it occurs after physical activity in which the lung function can diminish when the exercise is completed. Asthma can also occur with full lung function if your airways are especially reactive, which can be evaluated through a methacholine challenge.
