1 month: Many studies, over many years, have shown that hormonal contraception (pills, ring, patch) have no effect on fertility or menstrual cycle once they are stopped. However, once they are stopped, sometimes a pre-existing condition (like irregular cycles) that was hidden by the pill or ring will then become evident - don't blame this on the pill or ring! see your md if problems persist after 3 cycles.
