Any Time: Ideally, you should insert the NuvaRing on the first day of your menstral period (the day you start bleeding) which decreases your chance for pregnancy. You can insert it on any other day, however if you do, be aware that you will need an additional contraceptive method (ie condoms) for 7 days after you insert it to prevent pregnancy.

Any time: You may insert the ring any time. It should be in place at least two weeks before you will be protected, so use some other from of birth control for those two weeks.
