Yes, but prefer not: Benadryl or diphenhydramine is the sedating active ingredient in zzquil. Zyrtec or cetirizine is a non-sedating antihistamines that can be taken around the same time as Benadryl, but usually I have patients take cetirizine in the morning and benadryl at night as needed depending on the condition you are treating.
