Depends: This depends on how you define illness.It includes physical symptoms that occur if you consume foods containing lactose.It can be transient, after a bad diarrhea, or permanent.I consider it more a distraction than an illness.You can chose to avoid lactose or consume supplemental enzyme to avoid symptoms. I can't say the same for most illness.
