Possibilities....: There are many etiologies for cough. The most common causes for a cough are acute bronchitis, bronchospasm from any etiology (including asthma, chronic bronchitis, etc.), post-nasal drip, gerd, etc. A person can also be coughing from a combination of these and, until you treat every cause, the person will keep coughing. So, go back to your doctor if your cough is still there despite treatment!
