Possibly: sunburn or overheating. Make sure you use high SPF sunscreen.

If it's not sunburn,: It could be rosacea. Use sunscreen with 45 SPF that covers UVA & UVB rays, and stay out of the sun, if you can. Rosacea also can cause red bumps on the face that can hurt, but they are not pimples. Any heat source (hot drinks, saunas, hot baths or showers) can exacerbate rosacea.
