Occipital neuralgia: The location of pain is in the distribution of the greater and lesser occipital nerves. Typically, the pain starts in the suboccipital pain (under the ear area and then spreads upward to the scalp at the back of the head and occasionally down the back of the neck. At the same time the muscle pain should be ruled out by your physician before the treatment.
