IBS? IBD?: Lactose intolerance is a digestive issue: decreased enzyme to digest milk sugar-can tolerate some, but above limit causes gas, bloat, cramps, diarrhea because bacteria normally in gut ferment the undigested lactose. Irritable bowel syndrome is more complex; may have some role with bacteria in bowel, fermentation products, etc, not exactly the same. Inflamm bowel disease very different.
