Define: If the jaw is making "grinding" noises, that may mean that there is an articular disk dislocated/displaced forward in the TMJ area...Usually just on right or left side. An analogy would be like a hard piece of rubber that can hinder proper opening/closing (locking, clicking, popping) and can often make noises upon eating, opening, yawning...If it doesn't make noise, it is locked. See a specialist.
