Brushing alone: Does not whiten teeth. Brushing can remove plaque, and maybe some surface stains. Why would there be a need for whitening products if brushing alone could do the job? You need to have surface stains and calculus professionally removed by your dentist, and then you can decide if you want to use otc or dentist applied gels.
