Get counseling: it is not really"addiction" in the usual sense, but usually some form of obsessive-compulsive disorder, where people have to do certain things or they will feel tremendous anxiety. "Pica" - eating non-food substances like clay, or ice (or paper) may be a form of this. See a mental health counselor or psychiatrist for evaluation, and they can suggest ways to help you find your way out of this.
