How is it that babies that are fat at birth get diabetic later?

Maybe not: While many babies born to women who have diabetes are "fat", the birth of a large baby can happen for other reasons. However, since a large baby usually means that there is diabetes in the family, both the mother and baby are at increased risk of developing diabetes.

Not true: There is no correlation between a babies birth weight and development of diabetes.
