Letters: The only difference is the degree that is bestowed upon the graduate. Dental schools differ in the degree (dds vs dmd) but both are the same in the eyes of state licensing boards.

D.M.D.=D.D.S.: They both mean the same thing. Some dental schools grant a D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree while others prefer the D.M.D. (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree instead. The training the dentists receive is the same but the name of the degree is different.

Technically yes...: If you go to dental school twice... Which is totally unnecessary. Dental schools confer either a dds or dmd degree to their graduates. Both degrees are the same in the eyes of state licensing boards. But why would you want to pay tuition twice for the same degree?
