Cold allodinya: The stimulus that normally is not painful (light touch) causes pain called allodynia. Cold allodynia is a symptom in patients with neuropathic pain. A-beta fibers (non pain transmitting) can acquire the capability of transmitting impulses that may be interpreted by the brain as pain. Treatment is complex for the neuropathic pain to eliminate the symptoms. Rec.: see pain management specialist.
