Onion: My favorite treatment for bug bites ia slice of onion. Rub it on the bites (avoid the eyes obviously). The enzymes in the onion neutralize the toxin in the big bites and reduces swelling and itching. If very itchy you can also use homeopathic apis mellifica.

Check the sheets : Might want to take a close look at the bedding (particularly the sheets) to look for bedbugs. Can try some non-prescription anti-itch creams/sprays. Keep the fingernails short and encourage your child not to scratch in order to avoid skin infections. Have the doctor see the lesions, to be sure they are not infected or something other than bug bites.
