Bleeding: Minimally or just oozing, probably. More than that, no. Use gauze pads with gentle pressure, or even better a wet tea bag over the sockets for 45 minutes. Better to sit than lie down. Limit physical activity. Do not rinse, spit or suck through a straw the first day or two. If still a problem, contact the doctor who treated you.

Bleeding: The length of time for bleeding to stop following the removal of a wisdom tooth can vary. At five hours following the removal of your tooth, you may have some blood tinged saliva, which is common. If you are experiencing continued active bleeding that is not controlled with biting pressure on gauze sponges, you may need to talk with your dentist or surgeon for more advice.
