A member asked:

Can low progesterone levels cause a miscarriage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes.: It's a cause of recurrent miscarriages, though it isn't very common. If a patient suffers 2 consecutive miscarriages (without a full-term pregnancy in between) that meets the minimal criteria to be diagnosed with 'recurrent miscarriages' (though some dr's use 3 miscarriages). It can be tested for. Progesterone supplementation is very safe, and many doctors will offer it to patients.
