P.G. leg swelling: The developing fetus in the uterus is putting pressure on the main blood vessel bringing blood back to the heart.(inferior vena cava). As a result, the blood pools in your legs and the fluid "escapes" into the tissues. Elevate your spirits and your legs during pregnancy as this is temporary and is "cured" by delivery.
