A member asked:

What should be done to my drug seeking behaviour beside psychiatric help ?

Understanding: It's important for you to understand the reasons you seek drugs, the stresses in your life, the emotional discomfort these stresses cause, the different ways you can react to stress besides seeking drugs and to have a support system to help you along such as a 12 step group. Most importantly, to have compassion for yourself as you try to improve your life. Hope this helps.

AA or NA: You may benefit from involvement with alcoholics anonymous or narcotic anonymous. Also, if you are familiar with celebrate recovery that also has been well received by several individuals I have worked with that have contended with substance abuse. Stay safe!
