How long should steristrips stay on after hernia surgery; i have a few left on after two weeks . i had permanent stitches..; not mesh..

Some can hold: Some of them can hold on for a while. The rest of them should come off soon.

You can remove them: In a healthy patient the steristrips can start falling down in one week, anything beyond that is worthless.

Take them off : I there are any steristrips left when i see patients at a two week post-op visit, i simply peel them off slowly. Two weeks should be plenty if time for the skin incision to heal. If there is any doubt, see your surgeon.
