A member asked:

Im having iv sedation tomorrow at 2:30pm for endometrial ablation.rn said no food after 6:30am but my paperwork says 6:30pm.how long do i need to fast?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

8 hours: The longer the better. The norm is nothing after midnight for a procedures, so 6:30 am for 230 pm should work but the goal is an empty stomach. So if you can handle it don't eat after dinner.
