Can be tough : Asthma is a condition that is confined to the lungs; anaphylaxis is an allergic reaction that can involve the lungs (wheeze or cough), a closing up of the throat, swelling of the lips, and vomiting, to name a few. Either condition is serious. Do not hesitate to call 911 if you are unable to tell if your son is having an asthma attack versus anaphylaxis. Always "err" on the side of safety.
