Referred pain : It sounds like you have "referred pain" - pain that starts somewhere else and then recruits nerve fibers that send the pain elsewhere. I say that because the pain with breathing suggests a primary problem in your lung or pleura i.e. Pleurisy. The pain then radiates to your shoulder. Do you have fever? You need a chest x-ray.
