Randomly getting sharp pain in back by left shoulder blade. randomly, takes my breath away, lasts couple mins then goes and i'm fine. what could it be?

Pleurisy, perhaps: If this has been going on for a few days, then I would schedule an appt with my primary care doctor. This could be something more serious, but if it is only a day or two, then some anti-inflammatory medicine taken wtih food might help with the pain. There are several things that can cause referred pain though and these might need to be evaluated
