Examination: At age 24 , your meniscus surgery 4 years ago may have nothing to do w/ your hip( and ankle?) pain.Tell your physician( hopefully an ors) your symptoms and let him examine you. He can then come up w/ a presumptive dx.And begin treatment . He may obtain x- rays, and if he thinks it warrants it, lab work .Best of luck!
