Itching ; burning: Not all problems like folliculitis are caused by germs. Some other reasons are oils, friction, occlusion, perspiration ; rubbing. If it is deep seated you will see redness ; swelling and papules, are you diabetic where it is more common.? The physician should differentiate bacterial from nonbacterial to start treatment. Note that bacterial folliculitis is occasionally stubborn ; persistent.
