Should get checked: Sorry to hear of your trouble...You may have problem with gallbladder malfunction or disease state such as celiac sprue. Bile (stored in your gallbladder) helps digest/breakdown fat into finer form your intestine can absorb. Celiac is a disease of the intestine itself and has problem absorbing many nutrients, including fats. These are just my guess. Consult doc for a work-up. Good luc.

Not gaining weight: Digestion is very complicated. In fact, the problem may be gluten sensitivity and not fat digestion at all. Any condition that causes inflammation in the bowel will disturb the digestive process. You should first see your primary care doc and then possibly get a referral to a gastroenterologist if you two can't figure out the problem.
