A member asked:

Can i take. inderal (propranolol) if i have a history of asthma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Asthma that is active with airway bronchospasm makes a non selective beta blocker like Inderal (propranolol) problematic, because beta 2 receptor sites line the bronchial airways (wheezing might get worse). If beta blocker needed in that case would use a beta 1 specific agent (metoprolol). That said, history of asthma with no active wheezing probably not a problem for inderal (propranolol).
