Yes and yes: Acutely yes, as there is the effect of surprise. Later on it should go away, unless there is damage inside. There could be a resultant panic or fear that occurs later and there are episodes of anxiety. If it is just sob and it is persistent, have a good exam or even imaging done. Remember the center of breathing is still the brain. Associated injury should be searched.
