A member asked:

Is it a bad thing to apologise or send an email to a therapist if you feel that you have really angered them . how do clients get over dependency ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Complicated question: If you truly feel you have said something inappropriate or offensive, it is always appropriate to apologize. You might wait til your next appointment to do that, unless email has been a part of your normal communication. Reducing dependency on a therapist - if this is what you mean - is just part of getting better! part of being healthy is being able to stand on your own feet and solve problems.
