More info needed: Many reasons for epistaxis (nose bleeds). Could be anything from dry mucus to cancer. If no epistaxis in past 5 years chances are you had a benign problem when you were younger. If it recurs see an ENT specialist. If he/she thinks cauterization is the treatment there is little risk.
