Desensitization: Progressive desensitization helps with phobias. You need to work with a psychologist or other therapist who deals with phobias. They can help you work on the phobia with imagery and practicing in real-life situations, so you can gradually lose your fears. If you need dental work done urgently, short term use of antianxiety medications can help; talk to your prescriber about that.
