Need diagnosis: Possible causes of a chronic non-productive cough include post-nasal drip, bronchospasm due to any cause, gerd or even a combination of these problems. Your cough needs to be evaluated by your doctor so the correct treatment can be rendered since all of these have different treatments. If you smoke, you need to quit.
