Shot pain: The dental shot for anesthesia is like a pinch followed by pressure what I do which I have been told works well is to use a topical anesthetic to numb the gum or cheek surface then inject a small amt of anes only wait 2 mins and then give the remainder of the anes i have been told that is the least painful way to inject overall.....Its not terrible pain no matter how it is done.

Hardly noticeable if topical anesthetic and smaller gauge needles are used.
