Will toothpaste get rid of acne? how?

10 doctors weighed in across 4 answers

No: Do not use toothpaste on your face. It will not help acne but can leave ugly red spots instead. It is very irritating to skin. Don't use it. Use it for your teeth only. There are too many ingredients in toothpaste these days that are not meant for skin.

Not good idea: Using any toothpaste for your acne can cause more redness and irritation. Please don't ever do this to your face, save the toothpaste for your teeth only.

No, it will not: So many people have posted how they've burned their skin with toothpaste trying to do just that. Leave the TOOTHpaste for the TEETH and try a product specifically formulated for acne.

No: Toothpaste is for teeth. It can leave a nasty red irritation.
