Can the medicines for the cold help immune system?

Not exactly: Medicines for colds help with the symptoms. They help you to feel better while your immune system goes about its job of fighting off the infection.

No: Meds used for relief of common cold symptoms are usually geared to either decongest, loosen or mobilize mucus or dry secretions associated with the symptoms associated with the common cold. Immune modulators (medications that either stimulate or suppress an arm of the immune system) are not the properties of the OTC cold remedies.
