Depends: If it is the back part of your tongue it may be your tastebuds, if it is on the uvela ask your doctor to take a look, it is hard to know without taking a look to see if it is anything worth a biopsy. If you have had chronic sinusitis or sore throats or allergies, you need to have your ENT follow this. You may be chronically inflamed.
