A member asked:

How will i know if i need to get my thyroid checked what are symptoms please?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Hyperthyroid(overactive thyroid) symptoms: weight loss, fast heart rate, palpitations, tremors, muscle weakness, feeling hot, trouble sleeping, more bowel movements, light periods. Hypothyroid(underactive thyroid) symptoms: weight gain, sleepiness, swelling, hair loss, constipation, fatigue, heavy periods. However, all of these symptoms are nonspecific, most people with them have no thyroid problem.
