A member asked:

Is there an over-the-counter vitamin that i should give my 16 mo? or should he get a prescription?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Evaluate need: At age 16 months children can be zinc and iron deficient and in winter vitamin d deficient. Vit k2 \ keeps the calcium in bones and teeth. Obtain at a health food store to minimize undesirable food colorings and additives. Emphasize fresh vegetables, fruit, grass fed meats, high quality eggs, and whole grains to include iron rich and zinc rich foods in diet. Rice is too high in arsenic.
