Fluid: Cough/cold medications are not recommended for children younger than 2. Measure your child's temperature to see if he has an elevated temperature. If so, tylenol (acetaminophen) is helpful to temporarily reduce this. For congestion, saline nose drops with gentle bulb suction will help. Of course, if your child has a "fever"(temperature 100.6 or above) or is irritable, he should be seen by his md. Lots of fluids!
