I know lh surge that lasts many days, can be a symptom of pcos. blood tests say i'm ovulating, yet my lh surge lasts till my period, why?

No need to repeat: You stop doing ovulation kits after it turns positive because it will stay positive for awhile. If you are having regular periods and your ovulation tests show you are ovulating there is simply no value or utility in following a lh surge. If you are not ovulating or not having regular periods then scheduling a visit with an obgyn is certainly reasonable.
