My doctor suggested a gj tube to replace my nj tube what are some pros cons of gj tube instead a nj tube?

Comfort, easier care: Ng tube is uncomfortable, can result in regurgitation, and may be unsightly for some. A tube placed into the stomach or jejunum requires a minor surgical procedure, and when properly done ends up with you having comfort, easier care, and these tubes are beneath clothing. The latter tubes are meant for longer term use, and can be easily replaced.

NJ vs GJ tubes: There are a number of key differences between a naso-jejunal tube versus a gastro-jejunal tube: 1) point of insertion--nj goes thru your nose while gj is placed thru your skin ; presumably is more comfortable; 2) reliability--nj ; gj tubes notoriously both flop back into the stomach, but the frequency is a little higher with the ng device; 3) nj tubes can cause esophageal trauma; gj tubes don't.
